MORE THAN YOU SEE
You understood the face. Not the story.
THE CAMPAIGN / 05
A CAMPAIGN ABOUT THE STORIES WE NEVER GET TO READ.
A campaign about the biographies we never get to read and the speed with which a fragment becomes a verdict.
THE CHALLENGE
We often build a complete story from one expression, one moment or one behaviour. The judgement feels certain because the missing context stays invisible.
THE INSIGHT
A person is always larger than the fragment available to us. What looks like distance, seriousness, confidence or silence may sit on top of a biography we know nothing about.
THE CREATIVE IDEA
ONE TENSION.
ONE CLEAR MOVE.
Pair restrained portraits with a direct accusation: ‘You think you understood them.’ The campaign does not reveal a dramatic backstory; it makes the viewer notice how quickly they invented one.
CREATIVE PROCESS / 03
HOW THE IDEA
BECAME A SYSTEM.
Show only the fragment
Begin with an expression that invites an immediate judgement.
Expose the assumption
Use one line to make the viewer conscious of the story they supplied.
Protect the complexity
Do not resolve the portrait with a neat biography; leave space for uncertainty and empathy.
ART DIRECTION
THE VISUAL
LANGUAGE.
Quiet editorial portraiture in ordinary Berlin spaces. Natural expressions, layered reflections and people moving at different speeds create ambiguity. Typography remains calm and precise, leaving room for the face to resist explanation.
